How to Establish a Successful Google Adwords Campaigns
Google Adwords is still the undisputed leader in pay-per-click advertising and traffic generation systems on the Internet today. Use it well and you can get a lot of highly targeted traffic to your websites and blogs. Understanding how Google Adwords works is only a part of being successful with PPC advertising; you'll need to understand how to create effective campaigns, how to develop ad groups, and how to place bids for the right keywords.
No matter what niche you're in or what type of audience you are trying to attract, there are some specific guidelines to follow when using Google Adwords. Here are some important tips for creating a Google Adwords campaign that gets results:Follow these procedures to help you set up an effective AdWords campaign.
1. Use the wizard to set up your AdWords account. Creating a Google Adwords account is easy with the Adwords wizard. The Adwords wizard will take you into a tour of all basic account management tools; the section wherein you setup your campaign using just a few clicks and where you can choose the regions you want your ads to run.
2. Create a compelling ad. Each component of your ad must follow a particular formula for it to be effective. Make sure your keyword or keyphrase is used in the headline, type a benefit in the second line, write your special offer or feature in the third line, and include a destination URL (your landing page) in the fourth line. This proven formula is taught by best-selling Adwords strategy books; such as Perry Marshall's "The Ultimate Guide to Google Adwords" and Peter Kent's "Pay per Click Search Engine Marketing for Dummies".
3. Use the right keywords. Google provides users with a robust Keyword Selector tool that allows you to generate lists of highly targeted keywords and keyphrases related to your niche. Utilize this tool as much as possible when creating your campaign or even before building up your website or blog.
4. Learn how to keyword match. The Google Keyword tool allows you to perform broad matches, phrase matches and exact matches for your keywords in your campaign module. This allows you to broaden your scope of words for a particular campaign. There is also an option to exclude certain words from your campaign by using the negative match. You may want to do this so that your ads will not run on users' computers who typed in the excluded words.
5. Set up your budget. One of the best feature Google Adwords offers is the ability to specify a daily budget for your campaigns. Google will automatically deduct balance from your account up to your specified daily budget. Work with a small budget initially and increase it as you gather more data about your campaign. You need to find out which keywords actually lead to a sale and the exact cost you incur for each lead. Once you have enough data, you can then confidently increase your budget.
